For over a century, March 8 has been a day of strength, action, and change. Originally declared International Women’s Day by Vladimir Lenin in 1922 to honor the women of the 1917 Russian Revolution, IWD has since evolved into a global movement, officially recognised by the United Nations in 1977.This year, as we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the theme is loud and clear:
March Forward.
But what does that mean? It’s a call to action—to create a more equal future for women and girls.
It’s a reminder of progress—while acknowledging there’s still so much work to be done.
It’s about breaking barriers—systemic inequalities, economic disparities, and gender-based violence shouldn’t exist in 2025.
Marching Forward in Activewear That Fits EveryBODY.
At Bekeane Activewear, we’ve always believed in moving forward—literally and figuratively. Women belong everywhere, in every space, in every size, in every color. That’s why we refused to accept an industry that ignored curvy women, that only offered dull colors in limited sizes. We created a brand where inclusion isn’t an afterthought—it’s the foundation.Marching forward means:Activewear that actually fits-from size 6 to 38 because everyBODY belongs.
Breaking outdated beauty standards-because there is no “right” way to be a woman.
Making space for ALL women- because the future includes everyone.
